·       Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which is a consolidating statute related to food safety and regulation in India.


·       FSSAI lays down scientific standards for articles of food and regulates their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food to 130 crore citizens of the country.



·     Government (FSSAI) recommends that all licensed food businesses must have at least one trained and certified  Food Safety Supervisor under FoSTaC for every 25 food handlers in each premise.


·    This certification course is mandatory as per FSSAI for those who are involved with food business and also those businesses where food material is prepared, sold or stored for use by their own employees.



·     This is an Advanced (Level 2) Workshop with Government certification for State & Central Licensed food business.


·   It is a detailed module on Schedule IV of Government FSSAI Regulations.



·     This workshop has been developed by domain experts who are a part of the expert committee of Government for FSSAI.


·  Training is based on general hygiene or manufacturing practices as detailed under schedule 4 of FSS Government Regulation courses have been divided into following 3 levels.



·  The training is mandatory as per FSSAI for all FBO’s- Government Certification




The comprehensive agenda on Food safety will deal with the various aspects of Management processes. The contents of the Programmed include:


·       Wide knowledge sharing on adulteration methods for identifying right products.


·       Wide knowledge sharing on Food grade plastics and different plastics and its produced from.



·       Different Food colors usage in food and its causes.


·       Current available food safety procedures to deal with their business.



·       Process of developing a suitable food safety solution for their business.


·       Using approved Food safety auditing agency to ensure hygienic Food.



·       Translating collected auditing information into action to fine tune the current processes.


·       Developing the right measurement and metrics to identify areas of improvement.



·       Designing a competent Food safety process.


·       Pest control procedures and right method to be used.



·       Knowledge sharing session for the participants by the participants.


·       Cooked oil can be handed over to government bodies through RUCO.



The workshop is administered through Food Safety Class room assembly with lecture, poster, Group activities and assessment.

·       Persons who are in food business or intend to become involved in food business, student or food professionals can be the certified Food Safety Supervisors


·       Workshop is highly beneficial for the staff employed in staff welfare canteens of the manufacturing companies, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, can’t, food outlets, departmental stores storing food items, etc.



·       This Course is also meant for the operational, logistics and the administrative staff involved in, Catering, Manufacture/ Processing, Street Food Vending, Storage & Transport, Retail & Distribution


·       This work shop is helpful for caterers for their business development and graduates from science background who intend to gain knowledge on food safety

·       All participants are to be in possession of their AADHAAR card details to be uploaded on the Government of India Website. At the end of the workshop, an assessment test would be administered. Upon successful qualification in the test, certificate from the Govt of India (FSSAI) would be dispatched to the participants online within a period of two to three weeks. No additional fee is to be paid for the assessment or certification.


Facilitator Profile:

Dr.V.Pasupathy who is the Founder of PARIKSHAN, is a reputed food safety scientist with multiple doctorate degrees. He is the Lead Expert FSSAI government of India, Convener, committee for catering regulations and National advisor Federation of Hotels and Restaurants also National advisor Catering Federation of India. He has conducted umpteen workshops for Food Business Owners (FBOs) and hospitality industry stakeholders on the impending Food Safety & Standards Act (FSSA).

He is the only Diamond trainer as accredited by FoSTac government training portal. Dr.V.Pasupathy has been a knowledge partner along with Parikshan in many social awareness programs like ones at Cancer institute used to convene at Valluvar kottam.
