The importance of Intrapersonal Skills cannot be overly emphasized. But at times, good intrapersonal skills go unnoticed. We notice only those who are poor in Intrapersonal. It is common to see people who yell at others in offices for no apparent reason, those who are too reserved and avoid others and those who take improper decisions and fail. This extreme behavior immediately attracts attention. Employees who are composed, those who are good in interaction, those who take only right decisions, those who don’t retort even when provoked, sadly go unnoticed. But despite this drawback, Intrapersonal skills are the basis of a successful career. The people who are highly successful are those who have sharpened their Intrapersonal. The pain they went through when their good self-skills went unnoticed is definitely worth it, because they are the ones who are sitting at the top of any enterprise and govern others.

Success and growth of an executive in a dynamic corporate enterprise does not depend solely on one’s academic qualification. While degrees, diplomas and certificates may fetch jobs, the tenure of an executive in an organization, his / her growth in the corporate hierarchy and whether such employee is productive enough to deserve a promotion is, among other things, dependent on Intrapersonal Skills. Before fine tuning the interpersonal skills – like collaborative skills or negotiation skills – it is important that one sharpens the INTRA-personal skills which should precede other skills.

Intrapersonal skills are internal beliefs (that occur in one’s mind), attitudes and the resultant behavior which shape a person’s life, whether personal or in the workplace. The list could get exhaustive. This session intends to cover the essential intrapersonal skills. It would include:

Ø  Open-mindedness

Ø  Thought-awareness

Ø  Quick learning

Ø  Focusing on strength - not on the weakness

Ø  Patience

Ø  Emotional stability

Ø  Knowing the difference between self-esteem and ego

Ø  Two Mindsets – Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset

Ø  Listening skills

Ø  SWOT Analysis

Ø  The ‘Johari Window’.

The participants would learn the basics of Intrapersonal skills with a PowerPoint presentation, which would be followed by activities. The participants would be encouraged to speak more about their strengths and less about their fears, weaknesses and self-doubts. Program would be non-technical and no psychology background is needed to attend this session. Program would follow the participant-centered and experiential mode of learning.

For Whom:

Corporate executives of all verticals and levels from diverse industries, businessmen, students, self-employed individuals who wish to discover, understand and perfect their own self skills before interacting with others.

Key Takeaways:

This program aims at transforming the participants into a highly self-regulated entity who would become an expert in introspection, learns to identify one’s own weakness but focuses only on inner strengths. An employee also learns to get along pleasantly with everyone in the office; while at the same time gets the job done. A corporate executive who scores high in Intrapersonal is the one who is self-motivated and confident – the one who believes in the maxim "soft in speech and firm in action”.
