In today's Competitive Market Environment it is essential to focus on all the areas that could result in Cost saving for the organisation and make our products more and more competitive without compromising on Quality or service. Since materials contribute to around 50 to 60% of the spend in most organisations focussing on this crucial area will result in better cost saving than in other areas. It is also spread over various areas in the SCM ambit like Procurement, Inventory, packaging, logistics etc. the scope for cost control is much available and hence better Management will easily result in bigger gains to the organisation there by increasing the Profitability and market share due to better competitive products that could be made available to the customers bring 'Delight" in them. Facilitator Profile: 

Mr N Swayambhu, SCM Consultant, has an experience of over three decades in SCM functions in Corporate Manufacturing Industries and has trained many SCM Professionals to effectively manage and optimize their Vendor Base. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Guindy Engineering and has done Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management. Has been a guide to several students of SCM Courses and also supported Doctoral research in SCM. Has a hand on experience in working with Corporates and MSMEs to identify their weak areas and help in bridging the same for overall improvement. He is currently the Immediate Past Chairman of Indian Institute of Materials Management and has conducted several workshops for Management forums like IIMM, MMA, and CII etc.
