Overview:

In the current scenario of Market Competition, In Indian Industries, 5 S is a Workplace organization method, based on Japanese Concepts – applicable for both Office as well as Manufacturing Shop Floor. Simple Steps of Five S’s are ‘Sort’, ‘Set in Order’, ‘Shine’, ‘and Standardize ’and ‘Sustain’. The 5S’ are used to make abnormalities apparent.

Five S is a foundation for other improvements because it demonstrates the employee and organizational self-discipline that is required for other continuous improvement tools to be effective. The 5S program establishes the standards for what belongs, where it belongs, ensures equipment and tools are inspected and ready for use, and constantly root causing and fixing the sources of contamination; it therefore creates a very neat and clean environment. Thereby, it enhances Organisation’s Performance & Productivity.

5S methodology has expanded from manufacturing and is now being applied to a wide variety of industries including health care, education, and government.

Facilitator Profile:
 

S Saravana Kumar holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the Madurai Kamaraj University. Did his Part time PGDBA from LIBA, Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai. He is a certified PMP, Project Management Professional from PMI, USA & Certified 6Sigma Green Belt from AU-TVS, Guindy, Chennai & LEAN Practitioner.

Demonstrated 20 + Years’ experience, working with organizations including Rane Engine Valves Ltd., TVS Brakes India Ltd., Arvin Exhaust India Ltd., Motherson Group, Adecco Netherlands and has done PM Consulting & LEAN /OpEx Training as Corporate Trainer over the last 5 years for small and upcoming companies in South India & Global.  Pan India and Pan Global Experience in Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Projects, SCM, etc. Hands on & advanced level experience in implementing Operational Excellence, New Product Introduction, Program & Project Management, Industrial IOT & Digital Factory (Research Topic), DESIGN THINKING, IMMERSIVE LEARNING, Productivity Improvement Techniques for Manufacturing Companies, Automotive OEMs, Auto Components & Engineering Industry. 

As part of his professional life, he has visited World renowned organizations like Nissan, Toyota, ArvinMeritor, Sango, Sharjah FTZ, ZF Group, BMW, TESLA, etc. He has visited Japan and Germany 3 times each besides several other countries like UK, USA, Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, Taiwan, Netherlands, etc. on project related business trips.
